Holding your own keys is the difference between owning an asset and holding a claim on someone else's balance sheet. Our mission is to remove the friction and confusion that pushes people away from that choice.
Why IBEX exists
Most people first encounter crypto through custodial platforms, where a third party holds the keys. That convenience comes with counterparty risk: access can be restricted, and recovery depends on someone else's systems. IBEX takes the opposite position - the wallet is software you run, and the keys are yours from the moment they are created.
That model puts real responsibility on the user, so the product and this website are written to explain that responsibility clearly rather than hide it behind marketing.
Self-Sovereignty
Ownership should not depend on permission. IBEX is built so that access to your assets rests on keys you hold, not on an account we control.
Privacy
Using a wallet should not require building a profile. IBEX does not require sign-up or identity verification to create a wallet.
Security
The most sensitive material - your keys - stays encrypted on your device. We design features around minimising what has to be trusted.
Product philosophy
Ship fewer features, explain them properly, and never overstate what the software does. Where a claim cannot be verified - an audit, a certification, a user count - we do not make it. Every number, badge or partner logo on this site must be backed by something real, or it does not appear at all.
Responsible crypto ownership
Self-custody works when users understand backups, phishing and the finality of blockchain transactions. We treat education as part of the product, not an afterthought, which is why the Security Center and Risk Disclosure are linked from every page.
